WAYS YOU CAN HELP
Since its founding in 1890, Methodist Children's Home has relied upon the prayers and gifts of our faithful friends to help provide superior services for our children and youth.
Churches and individuals provide the support needed to allow this ministry to fulfill its mission and commitment to serve children based on their needs, not their ability to pay. As a result, we are heavily funded by charitable support.
Less than two percent of our budget comes from family payments. We do not accept state contracts or state dollars for direct care of our residents. We have been blessed by the generosity of individuals throughout our history who have helped to build a strong endowment fund. All planned gifts are placed into this fund. These gifts ensure the future of our work with at-risk boys and girls. We only use the income from this fund; we must raise close to $3 million for annual operating expenses.
We raise this money through direct mail programs, Christmas appeals in the United Methodist churches of Texas and New Mexico, and through our monthly donor program and major gift support.
It is our hope that information included in this web site will answer your questions about God's work among us, as well as the ways you can help Methodist Children's Home do more than just talk about God's love - you can help us put that love into action for our children.
