WACO CAMPUS JOB OPENINGS

After-School Instructor: Drum Line
CONTRACT:  This position is available August 2014 - May 2015. The Instructor will prepare lesson plans, teach music theory and technique, prepare students for performances. They will coordinate and direct performances, competitions and outings. These performances include home and away football games and pep rallies. Other responsibilities of the Instructor include, but are not limited to, supervision of youth, teaching life skills, maintenance and inventory of equipment, and building healthy relationships with students. The Drum Line Instructor will work 12-15 hours a week. Classes are Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45 p.m.-5:45 p.m. with occasional weekends for performances and group outings. The Instructor will receive compensation on a monthly basis according to experience and availability. A bachelor's degree and/or experience in music or related field and 21 years of age are required. Youth Care Counselor (Temporary)
This temporary position's responsibilities include supervision of youth in a residential living unit. YCC must attend to unit duties regarding care and maintenance of the unit. High school diploma/GED, no criminal history, and experience with adolescent boys is required. Must be 21 years of age. Apply online.

Homeparents
Full-time homeparents work 7 days on and 7 days off under the supervision of the Unit Manager and Campus Administrator. Homeparents are responsible for the daily supervision of youth in the home unit. Additionally, homeparents are responsible for teaching daily living skills, problem management, building team relationships, home unit management, and having an up-to-date awareness of Methodist Children’s Home policies and procedures. A high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and a clean criminal history are required. Apply online. 

WACO CAMPUS CHARTER SCHOOL JOB OPENINGS

Math Teacher Grades 7-12
This 10-month (August-May) teacher position is located at the Methodist Children's Home campus and provides educational services on site to students at residential facility. Position is available August 1, 2014. Teacher will provide students with learning activities and experiences to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. This position also enables students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society and must exercise independent judgment and makes decisions with few guidelines. Required qualifications: Valid Texas teaching certificate(s) for secondary Math grades 7-12. (Applicants must list all Texas teaching certifications in resume.) Applicants with only a Math 8-12 certification will be considered if they agree to obtain missing certifications. Must meet Highly Qualified standards as established by the No Child Left Behind Act. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Copies of college transcripts must be provided if selected for an interview. Understanding of TEKS and the curriculum standards of the State of Texas. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a non-traditional school setting with special needs students of varying abilities and interests. Strong classroom management skills and ability to instruct students with challenging behaviors. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred qualifications: Valid Texas Generalist 4-8 teaching certificate. Vocational Agriculture Teacher
UT-UCS is a TRS participating public school district that provides educational services on site to students at residential facilty. This 10 month calendar, vocational agriculture teacher position is available immediately. It is located in Waco at the Methodist Children's Home campus.Teacher will support the mission of UT-UCS by providing students with learning activities and experiences to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Position will also work with another Vocational Agriculture Teacher to provide CTE vocational ag courses to MCH students. Required qualifications include: a valid Texas teaching certificate for Agricultural Science and Technology 6-12 or equivalent certification. Must meet Highly Qualified standards as established by the No Child Left Behind Act. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
